How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
Kia ora. Our city has a fabulous asset in the Tūhura Otago Museum. However, the museum is facing severe financial challenges. The museum is unique in that 50% of it's running costs are generated by commercial activities. Covid and subsequent reduction in tourist numbers have significantly impacted on this income. The proposed 2% increase in DCC funding is clearly inadequate when inflation is at 7% - the impact will be severe and in real terms equating to a cut of $250,000 in the museum's budget next year. PLEASE increase the DCC levy to 7% in line with inflation so the museum can continue to educate, maintain our taoka and world-class collections, research, continue as Dunedin's number one tourist attraction, and employ brilliant people in our city. Please show your support for this key institution in our city by increasing the levy, at least to the level of inflation.

What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
