What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
The council needs to make sure that live music venues have longevity alongside big redevelopments and gentrification. I would like to see the council ensures that new builds around the city centre also factor in live venues and the ways they operate. One example of this could be the council making sound proofing an actual requirement instead of just a recommendation for new residential spaces in the city, so that venues are less likely to suffer from noise complaints!
I value live music and want it to be supported from an audience/ōtepoti resident's perspective.
