How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
Dunedin is set in absolutely gorgeous surrounds, which, for several months of the year, offer amazing recreational and educational opportunities for tamariki, many of which are supported and made possible by the DCC. However Dunedin is also a small city, and consequently relative to other cities there are limited facilities for tamariki during poor weather months. The Otago Museum is one of the best educational and recreational facilities for tamariki, in fact, for families, especially during the months of poorer weather conditions. Fostering a love and appreciation for learning, science, exploration, critical thinking and nature in our youth and arguably adults too, is absolutely essential for the wellbeing and future of Dunedin and New Zealand as a whole. It is incredibly short sighted of the DCC to not invest in one of the few incredible resources the urban part of Dunedin offers to its community as well as tourists. I appreciate budgets are stretched all over, but do hope you will rethink the way you prioritise and allocate budget and consider the long term benefits of a facility such as the museum.

What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
Invest in and offer sufficient support to the museum annd its educational and research programmes.
