I would like to support and recommend that the DCC look at funding and supporting the Trust responsible for the design & construction of a planned cycle trail from Mosgiel across the Taieri Plain via Outram to meet up with current Central Otago Gold Trail being constructed that finishes at Waihola. Having this trail from Mosgiel to Outram would provide and excellent amenity for cyclists to get to Central Otago and vis versa off road and would be good for for visitors & tourists that would then put Dunedin on their travel plans. The trail would also be of benefit to the wider community as it could be accessed by walkers etc. The trail will also be of benefit as it will minimise any risk of accidents involving cyclists and other vehicles that are currently using public roads.
What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
