How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
I support the Tunnels Trail project to develop a Shared Path/Cycleway between Mosgiel and Caversham. The Tunnels trail project should be given immediate and high priority, without delay, with a focus of delivering operational sections as soon as possible. The tunnels trail is Dunedin's internal transport corridor between the coast and the Plain, as well as our link to the wider Otago cycleway network.
This project is important for cyclists, cycle tourists and for reducing reliance on energy intensive vehicle use. I represent the Valley Cycle Workshop which has already supported this project to the tune of $2500 to indicate our interest in seeing it progress.
What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
Developing policies and procedures to facilitate the collection of water for subsequent use from rainwater falling on residential and commercial roofs and to facilitate alernatives to extending impervious surfaces around residential and commercial buildings.
