How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
I would like to see more information delivered on Social Media sites like Facebook, that you are using well now, but could be more of. I want to know things briefly, to keep me up to date and to know how money is being spent. eg. What are the plans for the Taiaroa Lighthouse and how much will it cost and what is the timeframe involved. eg. how much money was set aside for titivating the University area.
I want to know what is going on in the city like the Pipe Band competitions that weren't on any media as to when or where.
I understand if it is commercial event then you don't get involved, but why not? It adds to the vibrancy of the city if people know that there is a lot going on.
What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
We should sell ourselves as the Hospitality City -Toilets for the shared walkway cycle paths asap
Drinking fountains at every street corner, More nice toilets in the city area.
Facilities at Taiaroa Head. Better facilities at Aramoana beaches.
Rubbish collection depots for polystyrene, Bi-annual collection of old whiteware from street by specialised trucks and crew.
ie a city that makes life easier for it's citizens.
Bring back the commuter trains.
School buses for children.
Allow dogs on leads in some parts of the Botanic Gardens
Public access to the harbour at St Leonards
A footbridge across the railway lines from the Chinese Gardens to the harbour. An inexpensive industrial and quick to assemble footbridge. Just do it.
