How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
The Friends of the Dunedin Botanic Garden is an incorporated society formed in 1986 to support and provide advocacy for the Dunedin Botanic Garden (DBG). Since our establishment, the Friends have been significant contributors to projects around the Garden and have a close relationship with DBG staff. We believe that the Gardens are a fantastic free asset for not only the people of Dunedin, but also those visiting from outside of the city. Given this year is the 160th anniversary of the DBG, we believe that this is an opportune time for the DCC to recommit their support of the Gardens and the excellent work that goes into managing and maintaining this beautiful space.

What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
We note that until the development of the strategic plan for the DBG is completed, there are no specific projects for us to comment on; however, we would like to highlight the proposed Demonstration Garden and paid support for the Information Centre as two projects which the Friends of the Dunedin Botanic Garden strongly believe would be of value for the DBG going forward into the next 10 years.
