How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
The George Street upgrades are a much-needed future focused and accessibility improvement for the central city. What has been completed so far is very encouraging. The new hospital build campaign is also appreciated and necessary. We need urgent action regarding performing arts venues and support for the industry if we are to have a viable and sustainable sector (see comments in next field).

What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
The performing arts community needs more engagement and action from the council around both future venue(s) and support for the industry. Focusing on one without the other risks further loss of institutional knowledge and keeping talent in the city. To be in this situation five years after the closure of the Fortune Theatre is at best pitiable for a UNESCO City of Literature. Theatre has an important role to play across the council's Strategic Framework including Ara Toi, Economic Development, and Social Wellbeing and we are all the poorer for not leveraging this.
