Re Cycleways
Cycleways have become a vital part of the regions infrastructure, and therefore
need to be funded in that same way as footpaths and parks are. Current priorities are the
Tunnels Trail from Wingatui to Dunedin, and the off road trail connecting Mosgiel with Outram and Waihola. These will provide vital links with existing tracks/trails and others nearing completion.
These cycleways provide locals with low environmental impact commuting as well as recreation options for a wide variety of adults and children, alongside investment of local and international tourist dollars.
What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
