Please implement an inflation adjusted 7% funding for our wonderful Tūhura - Otago Museum. This is an extraordinary place which enchants and educates people of all ages and is particularly important for children to be able to attend the museum’s education programmes and exciting events. Tūhura is a significant place for scientific research and attracts many out of town visitors as well as local people. Please ensure that the Otago Museum can continue to flourish through realistic funding.
What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
Zero carbon actions and climate change mitigation implemented.
Continue focus on Dunedin wildlife- Wild Dunedin and green and blue spaces. Use local knowledge of tangata whenua, community groups and university researchers to inform and help us to care for our stunning natural environments.
Smaller buses - all electric
Continue excellent work that is happening on water and sewerage infrastructure.
Community gardens - building social interaction and food resilience.
Hospital and health services - continue lobbying to achieve best health outcomes for all of Otago. This campaign has become much stronger because of the united DCC voice. Thankyou!
Continue to fund and promote our museum and other places of cultural heritage.
