How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?

What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
The Covid crisis has been a complete disaster for dance groups and dance communities in Dunedin. Most groups are back to unsustainable numbers while others disappeared for the scene entirely. Venues are simply unaffordable when groups are so small. The dance groups need support in that area as dance is a primary way for people to re-connect after being isolated from one another for so long. Dunedin needs a free/affordable practice venue for individual dancers to prepare for events. Dunedin needs to urgently offer financial support (in an uncomplicated way) to struggling dance groups in ways of covering costs for venues and publicity as the responsibility of bringing the community back to a healthy level of well-being cannot be left to individuals. Dunedin needs an outdoor dance floor so dance can be publicly present in the fabric of the city and experienced by ALL (see Dance-O-Mat by Gap Filler in Christchurch which is now internationally famous). https://gapfiller.org.nz/project/dance-o-mat/
