How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
I fully support the opening of a cycle/walkway tunnel between Wingatui and Caversham/town. As an Abbotsford resident, this would be a massive positive in getting around and exploring our backyard. There are currently few safe cycle/walking options for tamariki in our area and I would love to see older akonga use it to get to their places of study too.
Please stop talking about it and make it happen. Look to Central Otago and the amazing success their cycle trails are - we need to capitalize on this. I can imagine cycling along and stopping at one of a few coffee caravans on the way - what bliss!
What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
More playgrounds for kids, a basketball half court next to the park in GI Memorial gardens, maybe a skate park as well for the bigger kids.
