How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
Please, please, please focus council mahi and spending on projects that enhance the health and wellbeing of our communities, in these current times of huge financial pressures and cost of living crisis. I would love to see the DCC work in unity, stop bickering and stop advocating for personal agenda projects (eg St Clair groynes) and instead focus on societal basics in an effort to cap rates increases - a 6.5% increase rather than a 7% increase is hardly something to celebrate...6.5% is still incredibly crippling for many people on fixed incomes, many of who have incomes far below that of elected councillors. Please continue to nourish the DCC-Mana Whenua relationship regarding genuine input and consultation on council mahi. Please get on with the planned kerbside recycling implementation and incentivise reducing waste to landfill. Well done on the vision for the george st inner city upgrade, to improve pedestrian, active transport, and accessible environments - we desperately need to keep progressing the hard work of slowly shifting the societal mindset of single occupant car use with a park right outside the destination (for able bodied people).

What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
Extending and positively promoting more smoke free and vapefree public spaces, and meaningfully acknowledging this so being smokefree is normalised and aspirational. Please work with roading contractors etc to ensure road repairs are fixed in a timely manner, rather than having an overkill of traffic cones and reduced speed zones for ages before repairs begin...this creates the cry wolf scenario where we become so desensitized we just ignore them. Create an online map or printed resource showing all the public toilet facilities available in Dunedin City area and the opening times if not open 24/7. Same for location of safe public drinking water fountains
