How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
Work under Aaron Hawkins was great however the city has gotten grubby. Please clean the areas you create and maintain garden beds. St Clair and Vogel st both need this.

What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
It is time to work on improving the water front in the harbour basin region. Dunedin is decades behind with this. I would propose that parkland and jetty's should be utilised to create community areas. Think bike tracks (possibly even a hub that joins the two harbour cycleways) basketball courts, sheltered bbq areas. Providing green space close to the city centre which better embraces our beautiful harbour, paired with zoning that allows small business and residential development to thrive. On this note please look at creating the proposed walkway bridge next to the Chinese gardens. The bridge that is there at the moment is extremely unsafe for pedestrians- uneven footpath, no traffic concession for pedestrians at intersections, unreasonably steep and slippery ramp sections on and off the road. It's dangerous and would be extremely impractical for wheelchair users. While on the topic of the cycleway... a more fanciful vision but imagine our harbour cycleways connected by a pedestrian bridge spanning between port chalmers and quarantine island, to Portobello. I'm aware this is an expensive vision but Dunedin is a city which is a gateway to the adventure and cycling capitals of NZ. If we had a world class cycle track ourselves we could hold races which would improve the city's economy. Improvement of Andy bay infrastructure. At the current time the inlet partially infilled by Bayfield has squandered potential. This area could stand to have more trees, barbecue areas and amenities. It would be nice to see sand used in the bay here as it was in Macandrew Bay. This natural cove is sheltered from the Southerly winds and gets fantastic evening light. It is already popular and earlier councils have done the hard yards infilling the land for you. Of all my proposed projects I believe you could make the most change with the least money here. Closing areas of Queens drive through the town belt where there are other suitable roads around them. Pedestrianise parts of this drive and place exercise equipment along them (the kind used by Ravensbourne bike tracks) as well as playgrounds seating areas. Think Woodhaugh, but as a world class, city wide parkland. Additionally, add amenities to under-utilised areas of parkland already along the belt.
