How are we doing? Is there anything you would like to tell us?
The Burns Reserve is a major asset that the people can't access and don't even know exists. It is land locked, so access is a massive problem. If the council could buy any adjoining property (I think one may come up for sale in Ravensbourne), then suddenly we would have access to a major conservation estate (operated by DoC). It is a pity that such a fine old forest, full of big miro, rimu and totara is left to just decline on our doorstep.

What other ideas should we be thinking about to include in future plans for our city?
Sycamore is invading Dunedin. Council plantings of natives have been overwhelmed with sycamore. It is hard for private land owners to manage sycamore on their land when the seed is being blown in from road margins - managed by council. I have requested sycamore be removed from the roadside in Burkes two years ago and still nothing has happened.
